Asani’s twin sister, Besarta, owns and operates an additional restaurant called Silver Pancake House in Warson Woods, serving the same menu as Golden Oak. Golden Oak Pancake House owner Besart Asani said the Shrewsbury location, at 7289 Watson Road, will be the first of the two new restaurants to open. Asani expects the Shrewsbury location to open sometime over the next month, with the St. Peters restaurant to follow in September or October at 6149 Mid Rivers Mall Drive.

Asani said that opening restaurants is something of an obsession for his family. “There are seven kids and my mom and dad, and we’ve been in the business for over 40 years,” he said. “My dad grew up doing this and all of us kids grew up doing this.” The Asani family isn’t finished yet, either – Besart said they hope to expand Golden Oak to more locations in the coming years.
The food is always great, prices are comparable, but alot cheaper than other local larger breakfast spots. Aubin (hope I spelled correctly) greets us like we're friends, not just another customer. I highly recommend this restaurant and they have seating for larger parties.
